Hey, BJ.

Google shows this may be associated with Lexmark Printer software.  Does that ring a bell?

Well, DingDong. I do have a Lexmark, and just reinstalled the software after my restore. The printer seems to be working fine, so as long as no other issues arise with the message, I'll just ignore it for now. Thanks for coming to my rescue yet again. :smileyhappy:

:smileyhappy:  Wish I could tell you how to fix it, but I'm coming up empty.

As for the USB upgrade, no experience myself, but I don't see why it would make your system "sluggish" - lots of people here have done it (note the search comes up with a lot of references to the Inspiron 8200 LAPTOP, which isn't relevant to you, but couldn't screen them out):

It was definitely the Lexmark. I uninstalled, then re-installed the printer, and the message has gone away. Yeah!

I also installed a USB 2.0 card, it it caused no negative issues.

I am now the proud owner of a just like brand new, actually improved, 6 year old Dim 8200.

Thanks to all who helped.
