Dimension 9100 installing XP Pro USB keyboard issues

Question

Hi,   I received my new DIM 9100 today. First thing I am trying to do is install my own (legal) XP Pro. When the install of XP starts it ask me to press enter to continue but the keyboard is not recognized I assume as none of the keys respond?! How can I install XP pro on a PC without a USB keyboard? There is no PS2 port on the 9100 either!?   Thx

Zeemo, The post I linked to indicated that one USB port is active during boot. It did not mention PS2.

I tried all 7 of my usb ports and none of them work. This renders this brand new dim 9100 useless for me..... How do you install your own XP pro on this machine if you dont have a ps2 port?

Zeemo, Call (or e-mail) Dell tech support. The instructions for reinstalling XP on the 9100 haven't been added to the reinstall guides yet.

Thanks Denny,   I found out the solution myself now...:smileyhappy: You need a newer XP CD XP Pro SP2 install CD. This contains updated usb drivers that will make the keyboard work.
