Dimension wont boot to Windows

I have a problem with my other computer this morning, it won't boot to windows. I get a screen that says Primary Drive 0 not found, then it asks me to press either F1 to continue, which doesn't do anything and F2 to run setup utility, which is this BIOS thing which I have no idea how to use. It's a Dimension 1100, we just bought it only a couple of weeks ago, apparently there's no floppy drive, it looked like there was one but there's nothing there. Dell's technical support phone line isn't working for me. Anyone got any ideas what it might be? Was just advised that i'd probably need a new hard drive or something?

Chat with Dell for help in solving your problem asap.

Take note that you have only 21 days from the date of invoice to return your system.

Hit F12 when the Dell logo comes up. That will bring you to the Boot Device Menu. Select IDE Drive Diagnostic from the list. Keep an eye on drive 0, it will eventually say pass or fail. If it says fail, that's a bad hard drive.

Reboot and hit F12 to run Dell diagnostics if it lets you, but it sounds like your hard drive died.

The phone numbers are 800-624-9897, 800-624-9896 those should guide you to tech support, try opening the system and unplug the hard drive completly then try to plug back in the hard drive and see if it is recognized in the System setup. Run the Drive Diagnostics from the F12 Boot Device Menu to check if the hard drive is recognized or if it gives you an unknown device, make sure that the cables are not damaged too, otherwise I have seen a diskette seek failure that makes the hard drive not be recognized by the system and give the same error. OH, check the lights in the back of the system too, the ABCD and check what colors they are.
