Directx9 not found error

Question

i have a problem with open a game rollercoaster tycoon 3   if i want to open this game it gives the error message : 'Directx9 not found'   i must click on ok and close   DirectX 9.0c is installed on my computer   2 months ago he did it very good, since that time i have nothing changed or installed anything special on my pc.   i have a dell dimension 2400 pentium 4 Windows XP 512 RAM videocard: GV Graphics Controller   please will someone help me with this problem ?   Give me good advice or links for updates.   Grtz Diego

First thing I would suggest is to check out your diectx using dxdiag. If you don't have shortcut to it, click start, run, type dxdiag, click OK. Let it load the files then check out each tab, see if it shows any problems, run the tests..   You could also install the most recent version of direct9c runtime, June 2006   http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1C190175-7B26-4916-8E5F-6F88A5BC09C5&displaylang=en   That would(should) also correct any missing or corrupted directX files.

i run dxdiag, and everything seems to be ok.   i also intstalled directx9c runtime, June 2006   nothing seems to work.   it keeps giving me this message: Directx9 not found

In that case I would suspect the game. Do you have other games/apps that use directX? If they all work, then that would point more definitely to the game. Maybe some of its files got corrupted. Try uninstall/reinstall (or it may have a repair option, don't know). If the game has a support web site you could try there.
