Dual Boot/Dual Drive Setup: Safe in reinstall Win98 w/o affecting XP?
I've got a dual boot/dual drive system as detailed below.
The original 21 Gb HD is on the C drive, where Win 98 has always resided.
When I did a series of upgrades recently, I moved that drive to a Promise ATA PCI 133 card and added a second [250 Gb] drive on G. So I've had Win98 on C and XP on G and it's been fine till last week.
Last Friday when I tried to boot Win98 I got an error message stating "Cannot find WIN.COM" [a Win98 startup file]. Long story short, it looks like I'll have to reinstall Win98 to get it up and running again.
My question for the XP forum is this: When I enter setup to reinstall Win98 on C can I safely assume that it will know to go to C and not try to overwrite my pristine XP install on G???
