Emergency repair disk failure

My Dimension 8200 runs Windows 2000 Professional SP4. Using Backup, I create an emergency Windows repair disk, then attempt a boot from the floppy. Error message: 'NTLDR is missing'. I copy NTLDR to the floppy from C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386 (the only copy found on the machine) and retry the boot from floppy. Three lines of error message appear: Invalid BOOT.INI file Booting from C:\winnt\ NTDETECT failed How can I create a repair disk that works?

In any case, your D8200 can boot from the CD, where you can do repairs, etc.

The ERD is not supposed a bootable disk, by default.  As far as I know, you have to manually create a Win2k boot disk depending on what you want to be able to do, and I don't think it is posible for both a ERD and boot disk to coexist on the same 1.44mb floppy.  Search MS's knowledgebase for info on creating a W2k boot disk.
