Enabling Japanese script in Windows XP

O/S: Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 Service Pack 2

Hello, I'm trying to enable Japanese scripts on my computer.  I've already tried going to:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages -> and clicking "Install files for East Asian languages"

When I hit Apply, it asks me to:

"Please insert the compact disc labeled Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD..."

I have no such CD; when I purchased my computer from Dell it came with Windows XP already installed, so I have no hard copy of this disk.  I was able to find files similar to what I need on Microsoft's website in the download "Microsoft Global IME (Input Method Editor) 5.02 for Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0," but those downloads are not for Windows XP.

I have tried contacting Microsoft about this, but was told ,"When a Microsoft product is preinstalled or distributed with your computer, your primary source for support is the computer manufacturer who provided the software."

My Service Tag here is expired, so I can't email Tech Support directly about this, and at this moment I'm a poor college student who can't dish out the money for "fee based expired warranty support."  Is there any way I can acquire the Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD, or alternatively, download something that would allow me to install Japanese scripts?  Sorry for the legthiness, and thank you for your time.
