Error 1606 - %ALLUSERSPROFILE%Start Menu\Program\Startup is missing

Question

My problem initially was being unable to bring up the program menu in Start/All Programs.  It has since grown and I am unable to install my printer, run spyware, etc.   Again, the problem is error 1606  %ALLUSERSPROFILE%Start Menu\Programs\Startup missing.

Try this: Start> Run> type: regsvr32 /i shell32.dll then OK. Restart computer and see if that helps the missing all programs menu.

Running regsvr32 and making adjustments to my registry solved the problem.  I have spent months suffering with this problem.  Thank you very much.
