Error Code -6002

I am attempting to install software (a PC game) and on two different occasions I have received the following error message from the InstallShield Wizard:

Setup has experienced an error.

Please do the following:
-Close any running programs
-Empty your temporary folder
-Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setups)

Then try to run the Setup again.

Error code: -6002

This has occurred with two separate games. I have contacted the software producer, and they were unable to remedy the situation, suggesting that there may be a defect with the CD. However, since this has happened with 2 different games, I think it is unlikely that the same defect occurred twice.

Has this problem occurred with any others, and if so, how was it remedied? Thanks for your help.

You might try installing the games in Safe Mode. Hope this helps.

If you google for 'error code 6002 installshield' there are quite a few hits, including

One suggestion is to check that the file setup.boot is correctly named (one poster on a forum found his was named setup.boo)
