Error message
I5oo series / win98se
NAV 2002, SPYBOT S&D & ADAWARE all running. They find nothing relevant.
Not accustomed to error messages, but this recent one now occurs daily and has no apparent pattern. It could happen when signing on to principle ISP, moving to my web based (yahoo) ISP or surfing research sites or news groups.
"A fatal exception has occured @ 0028:C00F6E12 in VXD NAVAP(01) + 00005366. The current application will be terminated. Press any key to continue."
I have over the years experienced errors related to explorer, and always escaped. But this one locks up. What I do see is the NAVAP which suggests this error is related to my NAV 2002 protection. Perhaps the "LIVE ADVISOR".
Any advice greatly appreciated.

The original message, above is increasingly ocuring. But another warning has just occured when I was off line reading my documents.
"HPUB caused an invalid page fault in module GDLEXE at 0001:0000722C.
This is beyond my expertise, and I much appreciate any tips/warnings provided.
Thank you.

NAVAP is Norton Antivirus Autoprotect. Unfortunately, Symantec no longer has support documents for version 2002 on their web site, so it is impossible to look up the error and see what Symantec says to do. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Norton Antivirus.
Hpub is likely Microsoft Home Publisher and the error is likely in GDI.EXE rather than GDLEXE (check this to make sure this is the case - spelling is important here). Exactly what are you doing when you get this error?

Thanks for the speady reply Steve. I always practiced good maintenance on my puter and this sudden event was starting to rattle me.
NAVAP I was certain had something to do with Norton. Thanks for confirmation. I will reinstall as you suggest.
Your second question, I was off line but checking some calendars I had created using Home Publishing. So this seems to fit what you are suggesting. Both this warning and the NAVAP warning froze the screen and I had to manually shutdown. I could tell though, something in the background was still loading. That's what bothered me most.
Well, I not sure about the spelling now. I may have gotten it (HPUB) wrong. That warning only happened once but the NAVP warning is growing in frequency and I will have to deal with it For the record, Norton is about to be replaced anyway, because their 2004 version only protects pop 3 clients.
