Depending on what has happened with the hard drive, it can get to the point the Dell restore will not work. In those cases, it will require reinstalling with discs.
If your PC came with Windows 7, you can download Windows 7 (exact same version that you have) and use the Dell installed Product Key tag to reinstall Windows 7. Any device drivers needed can be downloaded from the Dell downloads, using your service tag number. www.support.dell.com
Windows 7 download Download the correct version, burn this to an "iso" data DVD. If you don't have a burning program that will burn an iso DVD, you can download the free and popular Imgburn Click Me
