Fingerprint reader software for laptop

So I have a Dell Studio 1535. Reinstalled Vista x64. Downloaded drivers. When I install the fingerprint driver it will install. But under device manager, it doesn't show it as a biometric device. It shows it as a personal identification device. Also, it doesn't install the fingerprint software that came with the laptop. So there is no way for me to enroll my fingerprint for the pc to recognize. I usually go under control panel ->user accounts and somewhere in there it gives me the option to enroll my finger. What should I do?
