First Defense-ISR

Question

Has anyone tried this? Pc Magazine had an article on it and stated they deleted files untill windows would not even load (kernel.exe, boot.ini, NTdetect.com) and used the First Defense to pick a snapshot to roll back to and the PC booted without a hitch.. This sounds really good and I was thinking of buying it. It is to be better than winXP system shots because it takes a snapshot of your entire winXP systemincluding application settings, data email, bookmarks,etc. It uses about 5 GB per snapshot. The cost is supposed to be around $45. Thanks

I doesn't impress me.  5 gigabytes is hardly a complete image of any system, therefore it doesn't provide a complete backup/restore capability.  Does it provide a selective restore capability?

The article didn't say.. Is there something better than this? I've had to redo my system before and don't like the thought of possible having to do it again in the future.

if you want to use that type of program, i would recommend "go back", instead.. http://www.symantec.com/goback/ (go back is also packaged with other symantec product-packages)

First defense should surely be to know what your'e doing on your PC and to use it and maintain it properly....
