Fix for updating Corel Paint Shop Pro
Dell preinstalled version 10.01 on my computer but did not first install version 10.00. The reinstallation disk that came with my system was version 10.00 so that's how i figured it out. Without version 10.00 being loaded first, critical files are missing that do not allow any further updates. So, I went to Corel support and found out that I need to completely uninstall Corel Paint Shop Pro X through a zapp.exe file that I downloaded from the Corel site. Then, I used my disk to install 10.00. Once I did that, I was able with no problems to install updates for versions 10.01, 10.02 and 10.03. Turns out that the updates won't install without starting from full installation from 10.00 and then updating sequentially. After uninstalling, use your disk to reinstall version 10.00. Then, you can go to this page to install updates in sequential order:
