Forgot Password to log in to desktop
I have taken down from my attic my old Dell Desktop, its a Dimension 3000 for my son who whats to use a desktop, the PC itself its about 12yrs old, but for the life of me I can't remember the password to boot the machine. The version of software on it is Microsoft Works 7.0, anyone know any way to reset the initial password as I have tried all the ones I could think of but none seem to be the correct one.

Since it's been on the shelf for a long time, you probably want to replace the motherboard battery before you get too far along. CR2032 3-volt coin cell battery, ~$2 at discount stores. :Idea:

@MGriffin78 - Always include PC model and version of Windows in your posts. Are you talking about the Windows password?
Do you know the current password and just want to change it? Or you don't know the current password?
And no offense, but how do we know this is your PC...?
