Generic Host Process for Win32 Services errors

Question

My computer has been running fine since I bought it 3 years ago but recently I have started receiving 'Generic Host Process for Win32 Services' errors which result in either programs not responding or complete freeze ups where I have to hold the power button in to shut down. the error signature reads( szAppName:        szApVer: 0.0.0.0    sz ModName: unknown    szModVer: 0.0.0.0  offsett 00000000 ) when looking into the details it allways reads 'C:\Docume~1\MyName~1\Locals~1\Temp\Wer3.temp.dir00.svchost.exe mdmp                                                                 and   'C:\Docume~1\MyName~1\Locals~1\Temp\Wer3.temp.dir00. appcompat.txt I haven't added any new hardware or software before I started getting these errors, and I run adAware, disc cleanup and defrag on a weekly basis, all virus scans come up clean and have all microsoft updates installed. Any help or ideas on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated

try performing recovery console or repair install for winxp
