I have no personal experience with IIS, but the MS knowledge base has quite a few articles

Thanks everyone for your help. I have tried all these, however, sad as it is, that still did not work.
I am going to try and remove IIS, then add it again.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

The "localhost" problem after SP2 is resolved by this Microsoft hotfix.
