Good programming software...

I was just wondering if anyone out there has used a good programming software to create their own software. If you have could you please tell me what the name of the software is, i am looking for a good software to build my own program. Thanks

What language are you planning to use?  What type of software do you plan to build?  Are you a student?

Look at the Microsoft Visual Express products. Not only are they free, they are very powerful. I use the C++ version, but downloaded them all. There is Java, C#, Visual Basic.

There are also free GNU compilers that are not quite as nice as Microsoft's.
