Hard Drive Not recognised. Trying to Boot from USB to recover files. Access Denied

Hi,

Dell Inspiron i5 70000 series laptop

My Hard Drive is not being recognised, and I want to try and recover files, if possible.

I have chromium on a USB that I would like to try and start up my laptop.

I have inserted USB and selected F12.

I have then selected the USB from Boot menu to Boot

The message returned is

*ACCESS DENIED* Press any key to continue. [OK]

Can anyone advise what I need to do, to Boot up from the USB, to see if I can recover files?

Thank you

Ensure yourself that you've followed all the steps to securely create bootable USB, read the tutorial here.

If that didn't help, I'd ask to use recovery programs to restore all the important files first. Use Recuva or Stellar Phoenix and see whichever works in your case.

Only Ubuntu 12.04.5 or higher will boot on a windows 8 UEFI system.
