Are the tab buttons, such as performance, processes, etc. also missing? I had that happen to me and the only way I could get it to work properly was to restore it back to a point earlier where it worked properly.
That might be a drastic answer to a small problem and hopefully someone else will have a better answer, but that's what I did. I did a SYSTEM RESTORE to a day earlier, or when it was working, and it has been fine since.
But wait a while, because someone with more knowledge might come up with an easier and better solution.
