Help with a non controlled zoom in

Hi,

Would REALLY appreciate if I someone can help on this one.

I'm connecting to a projector, switching to the projector and I start getting
zoom in behavior in ANY open application (e.g. ppt or word etc ...)

Cannot stop it unless I reboot!

Help ...

I have a client that is having this exact same issue!

I guess I'll call and wade through the hold times to try to see if they can fix it on the phone...

The ONLY workaround I could find to this problem is to work via the
nvidia menu (RMB on the screen). If you switch from it the
problem will not occure.

In any case, if you can find a better solution, please let me know.

Thanks,

Eyal

The bummer part is that it's an ATI video card, thus nvidia options are not available...

Dell told me to reinstall the entire os after wasting about 2 hours on the phone with them.

It seems to be either a hardware problem or a problem in the driver for the video card.  The problem does not happen in safe mode.

I have a X1 notebook  witn an Intel graphic card and I have the same problems of uncontrolled zomm with MS Office products (Word, excel, powerpoint and outlook)

The problem happens only when I use the FN/F8 keys to select external monitor.

to correct the problem I have to select the external motior via the graphic car driver parameters.

I seems to be a hardware problem related with the use of the FN/F8 key combination

Myself and two others also have this same problem.  I have done EVERYTHING short of a rebuild (which I can't do because I work for a company managed by an IT dept)

Updated chipset, bios, video drivers.  I have the ATI Radeon card, using the ATI control panel (which is confusing) or not doesn't seem to do much of anything.

There are TONS of posts on this...why isn't a fix available?  This severly impacts my working ability.  I can get it to work by using the projector as monitor #2 and extending my desktop to it.  Then I just drag the app to the other screen when I need to present something.  However, this doesn't work for all things because PPT only runs the "slide show" function on the main screen.

Has anyone gotten a "real" fix for this?  There are pleny of workarounds, and quasi fixes in the forum but hooking up to a projector shouldn't be this difficult.  This laptop is 2 mo's old.

Hey all,

Check out this post:

Looks like removing Intellipoint fixes it.  Can't believe it.......   Guess you gotta choose between advanced keyboard functions or projector functions.

Sorry Dell, looks like its an MS fix.
