How Do I Re-Install Windows XP

I have a Dimension 8250 running XP and I tried to uninstall the Verizon DSL internet service.  There was an error and now I cannot get it out of my system to install the new cable software.  I figure the best thing I can do is just start clean and reinstall Windows XP.  My questions is how do I reformat the C drive and and reinstall.  I have had to do this once with DEll on the line, but have not  done  it myself yet.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Janine

usually there are "reinstall guides" in "dell support" for each model dell computer..

reinstalling win xp et al is not very difficult..

you need to have a firewall running before reconnecting to the internet after doing a clean install of win xp.. you can use the "icf" firewall in win xpsp1, or the "windows firewall" in winxpsp2 if you install "sp2" before reconnecting to the internet, or another firewall that you have saved to disk..

here is a link to the webpage in dell support for the reinstall guide for reinstalling win xp..

You do not need cable software.  You need an ethernet card and a router.  There is no need for any other software.
