Thanks and I did that. But still no luck opening in a new window. For instance, I was reading this message, then I clicked on START, then INTERNET EXPLORER and that window opened right over this window. I only had 1 window opened and that was the new INTERNET EXPLORER window.
Not the 2 like I used to get.
Yes I right clicked START and left clicked EXPLORER. I clicked the OPEN FOLDER IN ITS OWN WINDOW. Still no luck. Rebooted to make sure the OPEN FOLDER IN ITS OWN WINDOW was slected and it was.
I used the dell online chat with 2 tech supt persons. I kept losing the chat when they had me trying stuff. Before I attempted to reinstall IE, I used the RESTORE to 2 weeks ago and things are fine now.
I think a re-install is required. You might consider getting the IE 7.0 Beta; it uses tabs like Mozilla Firefox. Firefox is a good alternate, although some sites (Microsoft!) require IE for some activities.

I don't see FOLDER OPTIIONS under TOOLS. I do see the GENERAL TAB under INTERNET OPTONS but don't see BROWSE FOLDERS.
What I do see under TOOLS is:
mail
pop-ups
manage addons
syncronize
windows update
sun java
internet options
I have version 6.0 of Internet Explorer and I am using Windows xp with the lastest service packs.
Thanks
