How do I order a Recovery CD for my Desktop XPS 420?

My computer has been lagging lately and just shutting down on it's own while I am in the middle of doing something so needless to say, I am considering restoring it back to the original state as when I purchased it to see if that helps. I didn't receive a recovery cd for os media or dell drivers and utilities media so I was wondering how I could order one. I was told that I can get one copy for free or download them off of the dell website. Please Help.

By the way, I purchased this computer 4 years ago. Thanks

Run the diagnostics with the extended hard drive test to make sure the hard drive is OK before doing anything. You can request a set of original OS disks here-- support.dell.com/.../backupcd_form  You should have a Recovery partition on the current hard drive. Look up Recovery in Help.

Consider taking advantage of the $40 upgrade to windows 8 pro that expires in 12 days.
