How to Uninstall Internet Explorer 6 ?
Hello.
When trying to navigate using Internet Explorer, a window pops up saying that Windows Explorer encounter some errors and it needs to close. I want to un install Internet Explorer 6 from my PC (Windows XP) and I follow the process of going to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Internet Explorer disappears from the list of programs however I am not able to delete the folder C:/Program files/Internet Explorer because the system says that it is protected and used by other programs (I do not know which). I went to Microsoft downloads page and I downloaded the latest version of Internet Explorer (Service Pack) and when I try to install it, it says that my computer has a newer version of the software and setup can not continue. Therefore, I am in a loop...
What is the process to follow to be able to completely uninstall Internet Explorer and install it again ?
Thanks for your help.

Warren,
Thanks so much for your fast response. For sure, I will try. However, I wonder if I will be able to do it considering that I have already followed the "uninstall/remove" process followed in the Add/Remove Programs section.
Thanks again !!

Yes, that link will do what you desire. The Add/Remove does not remove IE from your system. It only removes mention of it, an aesthetic change forced on Microsoft by the Sun l awsuit.
