That is alot easier. It's hard to do that though, because i have a notebook. When i'm creating a bootable image, the part where it's asking for a bootable file, what file am i looking for? The setup.exe file? Also do i gather all the files and convert them to an iso?
i've ripped my disc and i'm looking to make a copy of it. When i burned the files to disc normally it won't boot off the cd. If i stick it in, in windows then it will come up with the setup.exe file and run like it should but that's not the way to do it.
Alright since i really couldn't get the "type" of help from here, i kept searching for a way to create a bootable image of xp using just the files. I found a site that shows you how to do it step by step with some NECESSARY files that are vital in acheiving the "bootable" aspect of it which was my problem all along. It's really NOT that hard just a few simple steps. I used Nero 7. The site i think used nero 5.5 or 6 (among other programs) but i pieced together what to do from the old nero application the site had. It even shows you how to slipstream in service packs which was pretty cool and surprisingly simple.
I hope someone else can benefit from this. Here's the link
