[partially tongue-in-cheek mode] Keeping secrets from your SO is not conducive to a continuing long-term interpersonal relationship. Either stop visiting those sites or convince your GF that doing so is part of who you are; and she has to accept it or say good-bye. [/tongue-in-cheek mode]

If you use Autocomplete in IE, the URLs you type into the address bar are stored in the registry at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

where CURRENT USER is the registry entry for the currently logged on user.

If you are using IE 6 they are also stored in the index.dat file of your (hidden to you) folder

 C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 .

Although that file is not readable, there are apps, such as index.dat suite that allow one to read its contents, also to delete the file and replace it with an empty one on restart..

Maybe your GF is savvy enough to look in those places.

Or she may have some monitoring app installed to check what you typed/where you went. This could be hidden from you.

PS your cookies folder is at C:\Documents and Settings\ your user name\Cookies
not the folder you mentioned

Try using a nice free program CCleaner   http://www.ccleaner.com/  .

At the end of your computer session, run CCleaner and then restart the computer. It does a good job.

You can use Index. data Suite which gets rid of index file as well.

Be aware that Norton Internet Security, if you have one may be set to monitor and store all internet activity and then some. If you have NIS check if the logging level is in Default or Verbose and inspect the log. You will be surprised what you will find. You may want to delete the log file as well. As JRosenfeld pointed out there could be some monitoring software installed on the computer.

Hope this helps, Ratz
