All the memory setting seem OK, so this should not be a lack of memory problem
Right click the attachment / copy to...... and choose where to put it.
Then scan it with your antivirus and see if it will open.
If it won`t open right click it again / Properties and see what info is there
I said if it was the only such problem you have it might be a corrupted file from the sender. If none of above work could you ask for it to be checked by sender and then resent?
If you have this problem with all attachments then the fault is with you. Try sending yourself a similar attachment and see if it will open
The sender might have sent you a shortcut instead of the actual file. This happens often. Look at the attachment's file extension and make sure it's a txt or doc file. Have the sender resend as a txt or doc file if it isn't.

1. Copy it to hard drive and see if it will open
2. Check your Virtual Memory (Page File) size. It should be 1.5 times your RAM
3. How much RAM have you got?
4. If this is the only file causing problems it may be corrupted.
Try these first
