Mike, The next thing i would look at is ctrl-alt-delete

windows task mgr.>processes and try to find the process that is running

to the net,and do a file search for it & then open that program & uncheck it's

auto update at boot.

First, Alt-F4 will "kill" a session immediately (assuming you are watching the screen when it pops up).
Until I can fix something like this, I download and use FireFox and Maxthon (both browsers, both free) and then search to find IEXPLORE.exe and rename it "erolpxeI"

If it's dial-up, go to (in internet explorer) tools--internet options---Connections (tab) and check "never dial a conection". OK.

That will keep it from automatically dialing, or should.

If you don't have dial-up, I don't know if that'll work.

If you do not have dial-up then pull the Ethernet cable (unplug) out of the PC.
