Hung internet explorer

I've been having a problem with internet explorer freezing on me for a couple weeks.  It keeps sending "hungapp" errors to microsoft.  i've been reading other posts and a lot of people talk about spyware.  i doubt this is the case since i regularly run adaware, spybot s&d and spyware blaster.  i have also run sfc /scannow (per microsoft article) and it has found nothing.  any other suggestions?

thanks
jackie

Are you up to date with all Windows Updates, including SP2?  If not, you should be.

Assuming you don't have something nasty/unnecessary running in the background that's causing this (Start - Run - type msconfig - press Enter - go to Startup tab and see what's checked there), you might try doing a Repair of IE. It's not the easiest thing in the world to do, but it works once in a while. Another option might be a System Restore to a point before the problem first occurred.
