browneyedgirl1867,

Do you receive any error message when you lose the connection to the Internet? If so, please post the exact wording.

A worm and a virus are the same things. If your antivirus program has been updated with current virus signatures and it gives your computer a clean bill of health, that is probably not the cause of your problem. It might be caused by spyware, however. Download Ad-aware from here and Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run them and delete all the spyware they identify.

If running Spybot, AdAware etc. dont help....

What internet service do you have?

Do they have a homepage and tech support on the web?
A number you can call?
They may post repair outages and other info.
Winter weather can raise havoc with equipment...cable junctions etc.

My Cox cable connection dies more often than I'd prefer during peak load times but it usually comes back after a few minutes. It disconnects sometimes 2 or 3 times in one session or 3 or 4 times a week. That's with 4mb download and 512k upload speeds.

And its the holiday season. More people on-line shopping clogs up the internet more than usual.

Later, Conrad
