IE6.0 refuses to load certain webpages

I'm stumped. IE6.0 refuses to load certain web sites.  These pages will load perfectly using MSN explorer or Netscape- but will sit without fully loading on IE.  The browser acknowledges the address and brings up the name of the site ( it's Gap.com & oldnavy.com ) but sits in perpetual time clock after that point.  I've deleted all temp files, history, ran spyware, etc.  The pages simply won't load.   Any ideas on how to fix this?

*sigh*  while I think your suggestion is perhaps an embarrasingly simple tast... I find myself asking "how to i check this, and what settings do I want to see vs not see?"

From Internet Explorer click on Tools-->Options-->Connections-->Lan Settings

then try to uncheck all boxes (take note of current settings first)

if same problem, try to download browser from www.netscape.com and see if you can open the sites in question

Many shopping sites depend on pop ups. Make sure your Zone Alarm settings are not blocking pop ups and cookies. Also check pop up stoppers, other firewalls, IE Internet security settings.

i've changed/fiddled with & changed back everything I can think of.  Like I said earlier, all pages in question *do* function perfectly when opening with Netscape or MSN explorer, but not with IE6.0
