IExplorer Runtime Problems
Not sure if this is even the right place to look, but my Internet Explorer no longer works. I double click and get the following message: Visual C++ Runtime Library. Program xxx/IExplorer/exe.
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Contact application support team for more information.
Does ANYONE have a clue what this means and how to fix it? I've downloaded Netscape to reach the internet and it's working fine, but that doesn't solve my problem. No one around here has any answers, I've tried to remove IE but haven't been successful with that either. About ready to throw it all out the window and buy a new one and start all over.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I did further research and have tried so many things, it's a wonder anything works - at one point I even lost my spider game! I have reinstalled but I'll look for a repair.
Thanks.

Instead of removing IE, you should try reinstalling over the existing installation. Rerun IE installation, there's an option to "repair" (if I'm not mistaken). Click repair. Restart and repatch IE. Reinstall sometime helps.

Edit: My bad, WinXP SP2 doesn't not have an entry for IE in the Add/Remove programs. It comes with SP2 bundle. How about reinstalling SP2 (or install SP2 if you haven't done so)? I'm curious, have you made any changes (add/remove software?) before IE stopped working?

I did absolutely nothing - it worked Tuesday night, then didn't work on Wednesday morning. I suspect some virus or spy program or something equally fun. Anyway, I've removed, reinstalled, downloaded the SP2 package. Nothing works yet. I'll keep playing with it tonight, then tomorrow I'm going to take it over to the computer store and see what they can do - if anything. Pretty frustrating to say the least.
Thanks to both of you for your help.
