Info please re: MediaButtons.exe
On my wife's new Inspiron One 2320 with touchscreen, Task Manager shows MediaButtons.exe consuming about 50% of the CPU most all the time. A quick search of the Web yields only sketchy information on this process, with an importance factor ranging from 'no worry at all' to 'threat.' What exactly is MediaButtons.exe? Thanks!

Did you ever find out what was causing the problem? I have the same issue.

I never got an answer to the question about what Media Buttons actually is, but ending the process under Task Manager does make the computer respond faster, with a lot less HD activity for no reason. I can't find what starts mediabuttons.exe when the computer boots, but as the machine is rarely turned off (just put to sleep), it's no big deal to end the process when necessary to keep it from running. So still a mystery, but with a workaround.
