Inspiron 1521 boots directly to Media Direct download - why?
Out of the blue, my laptop is now booting up to Media Direct and attempts to install 'updates' to Media Direct. Those updates then fail because I have bitblocker setup to prevent things being written to my disk without my permission. So the install fails and the machine shuts down.
I don't want Media Direct and I did not do anything that I know of to launch it. I cannot access my Vista OS and any of my files.
What is the remedy to get my computer back?

can anybody answer this for me?
to make it worse, I cannot find my Vista DVD
Why would my laptop suddenly not boot to the OS?

Answer (after looking elsewhere):
Turn off laptop. Firmly presss the 'house' button next to power button.
Windows should boot.
