First of all it is better to have the older OS installed first.
To install XP after Vista

XP installation problems
If your XP installation CD is only XPSP1 you will get the pci.sys error
You'll need Windows XP SP2 to support a PCI-Express graphics card.

If you are using only PCI-Express graphics card, the only choice is to boot from the complete edition of Windows XP SP2.

Make a slipstreamed XPSP2 installation CD

Hi, thank you so much for your assistance. The WinXP SP2 slipstream procedure worked like a charm! I love these boards, they're very helpful. RM
