Hi, Sorry for the late reply. The answer is 'no' I didn't get an answer to this problem. I tried Dell support and got the run-around, in the end they told me the only way to fix was to re-install windows. Since I bought the PC with Vista with the option to go to Windows 7, I really didn't want to go back through all that work. I donwloaded the 30 Day trial of PowerDVD 9 and this worked fine, but as yet I haven't purchased the full version.
I am getting this exact error when I try to update my PowerDVD DX 8.3.5424. I can't use PowerDVD because it tells me I need to update but errors every time. I have a Studio XPS 435T/9000, purchased in January 2010. I, too, am running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. Were you ever able to find a solution to this problem?
Thanks for the reply. I'm still working on figuring out the fix for this. I figured Dell support would have me try something crazy like re-install programs, but re-install the OS? To fix a PowerDVD upgrade installation error? I think not! I'll post here when I figure out the solution.
Hi all, I am have the same Problem w/ my Studio XPS 435/9000 Win7 64 bit AND my Latitude E6510, both purchased a month ago July 20th. The action center comes up with the same lame troubleshooting steps. It would be nice if just Once, I would receive a new computer from Dell that I Did Not have to spend DAYS troubleshooting it to get It to perform AS Advertised. I Like Dell. I Just want support, to Support! P.S. I Have other download/upgrade issues, and I have been able to fix 50% of them. Thanks for any help.
