In regard to the original Microsoft .net Framework Version 2.0 error message, does your friend have software for an All-In-One (AIO) V105, V305 or V505 printer installed?
In that case, he may have to:
1. Uninstall the software for the AIO V105, V305 or V505
2. Download and install the Windows 7 drivers and software for AIO V105 (A02 version), V305 (A01 version) or V505 (A02 version) printers from Dell.

Ron must have seen the article from before.

Dell has known about this issue, just maybe not the person you talked to.
