Installing IIS on Win XP Pro

I am trying to install Internet Information Services on my Inspiron 8500. I've gone through the Add/Remove programs and checked the box to install IIS and then get a prompt that says "The file 'admxprox.dll' on Windows XP Professional CD-ROM is needed." I insert my installation CD that came with the machine and it the file is still not there. I am not sure what I need to to to be able to install IIS. There are several other .dll files that are missing as well. Has anyone run into this problem before? I could really use some help.

Look in the CD. Browse to the I386 folder. Can you find a file named 'admxprox.dl_'? If so, let Windows XP copy that file.

If there is an I386 folder on the C:\ drive you can use that folder instead.

Hey thanks. I used the files from the C:/I386 folder and it worked.

I ran a search for the file on both my hard drive and the disk and they both came back with nothing. Do you know the reason for that?

This is a system file & you will have to show system file in Search Advanced by using;
"My Computer" , "Tools"  > "Folder Options" > "View" & scroll to "Hide protected operating system files" & remove tick , this will probably also show a Thumbs file on Desktop so after you are finished Searching add tick back & Thumbs file will be removed from Desktop.
