Installing corel paintshop x after unintalling software

I recently uninstalled paintshop X from my pc since I don't use the program.  However, Every time I boot up my pc it is trying to intall the corel paintshop x program and then could not find it to reinstall.  I did system restore to see if this clears it up but the same thing happens when I boot up my pc.  I do not want paintshop x on the computer and I want it to go away without have to try to install it every time is boots up.  Any idea how go remidy  this problem.  thanks

It may be that when you uninstalled it, not all the information got cleared in the registry.

Try using the Windows installer clean up utility

After downloading and installing it, open the app, look down the list, see if any items refer to Paintshop Pro, if so, highlight them, click remove.

Another possibility is that if you have the Installshield update utility installed (it comes with several different software packages, and Corel uses it too), and it is set to check for updates for Paintshop pro, that might trigger the popup to install, since it can't find the software. If you have the Installshield update utility, there might be an icon for it in control panel, from which you can uncheck Paintshop Pro.

HI

I have a similar problem.  I tried to uninstall Corel Paintshop 6 and Pro X as I installed a new Epson All-In-One printer and I did not want it to run through Corel.  Have you managed to resolve the problem and if so how did you do it?  It's driving me mad!

Thanks for this advice.  However, I tried the procedure but it still comes up with error message "Another installation is already in progress.  Complete that installation before proceeding with this install".  It obviously thinks I am trying to install another programme which I am not!  I have even tried System Restore but this makes no difference.
