Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API

Hi!

I am receiving the error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API" when I try to hibernate my laptop Dell Latitude D610.

Any suggestions?

I never had a problem with this until I upgraded to 2GB RAM. People have had trouble with only 512MB RAM if they let their hard drive is too full and fragmented. However, with 2GB RAM I still have problems with 14.6GB free on a defragged hard drive. I wish Dell would post a fix on their site since Microsoft won’t post the fix on theirs.

I have the same problem. My computer is a Latitude D610 with 2GB.
The problem is exactly the one described in KB909095.
Can DELL publish the patch mentionned on Microsoft page ?
I've got a windows XP pro in French.
In french, the error message is :
"Ressources système insuffisantes pour mener à bien l'API"

Here is a location where someone has an unauthorized posting of a copy of the patch:
http://rapidshare.de/files/8368822/Hibernatefix252701_ENU_i386_zip.exe.html

You can download it free after working through the advertizements. I've downloaded it and the patch works, but make sure you have WinXP service pack 2 with all the updates. Apparently it's bad news if you load the patch on service pack one. Also, I'd recommend having your antivirus and antispyware programs up to date.

Thanks for your answer but it doesn't solve my problem
because I've got a French version of Windows XP pro. This
patch work only on US version.

Does anybody has an idea to help me ?

(I already tried to install this patch (909095) with a soft found at
http://www.xp-sp2-updatepack.de.vu/ . The installation seems ok
but it doesnt solve my problem).

I have already applied that patch and it's working perfectly. It's important to have SP 2 and Windows in English.
