I'm not really sure, but the directions do specify that "It is imperative that this software be installed first" (NSS).

Dear Rebel9,
Tnx for your attention.

in Dell Resource CD, there is 2 chip set driver:
1) Intel Mobile Chip Set
2) O2Micro OZ711EZ1 Cardbus/1394 controller

that i install both of them !

before i install (1), in device manager, Universal Serial Bus Controller was like this:

  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub
  -Generic USB Hub

and after installation, became like previous message.

Installation was just 3 click! and no special order and step that cause any mistake.

So............you said that you did not install it first. You can reinstall Windows, but you're then going to have to install all of the drivers again.

I reinstall my OS & follow Dell Installation order. ( install NSS before chip sets), but :
1) unknown chipset (
Intel(R) 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller - 27B9) appear again,

2) Another chipset (O2Micro CCID SC Reader) that I can't find it's driver in Dell CD and website appear too.

In Dell CD I have driver for (O2Micro OZ711EZ1 Cardbus/1394 Controller) that doesn't for my notebook. I install it and this chipset detected, but I'm not sure that it work at normal performance & status.

One thing is evident that the unknown chipset must related to USB. because  difference than others is in last number : 27B9. Others are 27c8-27c9-27cA-27ccc.

But all of my USB ports are working correctly. :mansurprised:
