The error is generated by the C-Tree Server (see this and according to this the error indicates a request for memory beyond resonable limits. Since I am not familiar with the program I can't offer any suggestions for correcting the problem.

Windows 98 displays the following error message at start
up: Unexpected internal c-tree error #7490.  What is
this problem and how can I fix it?
