Internet Explorer Running Slow
I had a problem with Firefox running slowly on my PC and it stopped once I upgraded my RAM from 516 to 2GB. Before I upgraded, I.E ran a bit slugish and its still doing the same. I was told that I.E should run faster than FF since FF uses more memory. I have the latest I.E, version 8. Can someone help?

FF3 will load pages faster than I.E.8 (even though I.E.8 is touted as being as fast as FF3). FF uses LESS memory than I.E.8 but that really is not an issue unless you have many programs open at the same time.
Addons, especially "toolbars" (e.g. Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, etc) can affect performance.

Not ever speed issue is about RAM. You speed can suffer if you have too many programs open and RAM gets maxed out. Then you computer starts to use your hard drive as RAM and that is much slower. In your case since you started with 516? I would guess your computer has some age on it and it may just have a slower CPU. Bottom line the CPU controls the speed of your computer because it is the Central processor. Also, we don't know what operating system your running. If you are on XP then you may want to consider doing some maintenance like defragging your hard drive or uninstalling unused programs and also check for too many start up programs running in the background. In the end more information about what you have would be important in order for anyone to suggest sollutions.

Before it was the other way around, I.E loaded faster than FF3. Now its reversed after I upgraded the memory. *LOL* I do have Google Toolbar so I should disable that on I.E? My OS is XP, and I used to have 516 memory but now have 2GB.
