Internet Explorer

My ISP is AOL 8.0

 

When connected to the net via AOL i cannot open IE

That sounds like an AOL problem, so call their tech support.  Or maybe AOL intends it to work that way?

Tried AOL support and they seem clueless

They usually are. Stick with them until you get someone other than the first line support - who only read from papers.
