Linotrionic Linotype 330 Printer driver in XP does not work correctly!!

Recently we upgraded to windows xp from windows 98,

We were able to print fine using the driver in windows 98.  When we upgraded we started having problems with the driver....  It prints a banner (5-10 feet of blank film) and a message saying which computer it came from then the job we printed. This waists lots of film.  Now in windows 98 there is a sections in the driver properties where you can turn off the banner printing and that message from which computer the job came from.  In XP the driver does not have this option!!

We currenly use a linotronic 260 with the linotronic 330 driver  until the upgrade to xp it worked fine.  Do you know how to get the driver that is like win 98 or how to get the banner (5 -10feet of blank paper) to stop printing?

Thank You

Sara

According to Microsoft, the driver for XP is included in XP itself.  No other driver is needed.

Many older peripherals, that have built in Windows XP drivers, only have "basic funtionality" drivers.  The full function drivers and options are not available.  If the "basic functionality" does provide what you want, you will have to upgrade to a new device that is fully Windows XP compatible.

This is a "benefit" of a new Windows XP machine, the "old reliable" peripherals are either not compatible at all or only have limited functionality.  You will run across the same thing with old software - some will run under XP, some are not compatible and can't (should not) even be loaded.
