Looping in MediaDirect--how to exit?

My inspiron 1720 came with Vista.  Didn't like it & used it as a doorstop until I installed Windows 7.  Worked fine & loved it until I accidentally pressed the Dell MediaDirect button.  Now 'HAL' won't let me out of Dell MediaDirect.  Pressing the exit button just takes me back to rebooting MediaDirect again--and again--and again. Turning off doesn't help either. Since I changed the original operating system from Vista to Windows 7, I'm clueless where to start.  Any advice greatly appreciated.

Please check if you can boot into Windows by pressing the MediaDirect button rather than the power button.
