Marked as Urgent! ( IS IT ?)

I was checking Dell's download site and found a chip set, Marked "urgent" for my 410. Is this one of those " If it ain't broke don't fit it" Deal's or do I need to download and install this?  Here is the driver info.  " Chip Set: Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, Driver, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP x64, Multi Language, Dimension DXP061, v.8.0.0.1009, A17 "  Being new at this stuff I could use some advice. Thanks In Advance. Tele2       P.S. This PC runs really nice with the way it is.

It's not a "must" install.  But, the chipset drivers define what is on the motheboard or connected to the motherboard (e.g. PCI slots).  If there are any issues with the Ethernet NIC, Sound, Video, etc the new chipset drivers MAY resolve them.

As noted it's not a "must" but installing them may avoid potential future problems.

Jack, Thank you for your reply.  ( 1 ). I've never done a Chip-set install. ( 2.)  The size of the download, on my SLOW dial-up. Made me think I should ask, before I pulled the Triger on this one. I'll get it down and installed today. Have a Fine day. Mike

Before you do it, check to see what the date is to make sure it is later than the one you have now. You might already have the latest chipset. Dell always keeps the latest one on the site for reinstalls and older computers. I would skip it unless you are having the problem that it solves. Read the instructions on the page.
