McAfee and 100% CPU Usage

Question

I just set up a Latitude D610 with XPSP2. I wiped it clean and installed everything from scratch.I use VirusScan Enterprise 7.1 and the machine works fine for a day or two, then sudduenly the CPU jumps to 100% and McShield.exe is using 99% of the processes. This is the only D610 I have set up, but our company runs VirusScan Enterprise on hundreds of computers and I have never seen this problem before. Has anyone encounter this?

When you reinstalled your OS, did you install the Intel Mobile Chipset Drivers and 'Dell Notebook System Software'?  If not, you will need to do so.   HERE is the download page for your system.

What I did to fix this problem was upgrade to McAfee 8.0. That is all it was.
