McAfee program not letting IE7 open, how do I fix?

I recently installed internet explorer 7 on my computer and it has been fine. I bought Mcafee VirusScan Plus today and installed it and it is blocking my IE. I have looked for firewall settings allowing IE to access the network, but it is set to allow it to already. I read a possible fix that told me to uninstall Mcafee and delete all of its components and download again, but that didn't help. What else could I try to fix this problem?

In my opinion, don't even bother with McAfee. I had it for a while, but it's worse than a virus. It bogs down the system. Download AVG free instead, works wonders. I had problems uninstalling McAfee, decided not to uninstall all the way because of a corrupt registry key. McAfee didn't know what to do, so I just ignored it.

AVG is what I had before but it seemed to miss some things, so I figured I would upgrade a little bit to McAfee. I talked to some of their tech support people who seemed like they had no idea what was going on and ended up blaming the problems on internet explorer. I guess I'll just use a different type of security suite.
